Perfume Body Lotions Are Often Better Than the Spray
Filed under PerfumeApr 23Usually before trying a perfumed body cream you’re first introduced to the scent of the eau de toilette or eau de parfum spray. If you like the scent enough, you might go ahead and buy the department store set which will include the lotion and shower gel in addition to the spray. These two additional products, especially the scent of the perfumed body lotion, add a fresh new dimension to the scent and you fall in love with it even more. Then something else happens. You fall slightly out of love with the spray that reeled you into the scent; at least when it’s alone. Once you start wearing the lotion of a scent you adore there is no going back to using the spray alone.
Enhancing your perfumes’ scent is not the only great thing about perfumed body lotions. Most have superior moisturizing qualities than the average lotions found in your grocery store. A good example of this is RALPH by Polo Ralph Lauren’s Goodbye Dry perfumed lotion. RALPH is a crispy sweet women’s scent that is light yet fills a room and lingers. Its Goodbye Dry lotion does exactly as its name suggests.
Perfumed body creams are also great alternatives for people who can’t or would rather not use sprays. Perhaps the spray bothers their nasal passage or the people they must be around. The lotion worn alone will give you a subdued version of the scent. Sometimes there is a significant difference in the lasting scent of the spray to the lotion that causes you to prefer it over the spray. This is very common. One scent in particular where the lotion has a distinct lasting scent from the spray is Cabotine by Parfum de Gres. Worn together the scent is a classic clean scent but the lotion worn alone definitely carries different notes than the spray. The spray can be a bit strong, yet ironically the scented lotion seems to even last longer than the spray!
The next time you’re flipping through a magazine and catch a whiff of a new scent you think you’d love, visit your local department store. Spray the scent one wrist and lotion the other. Wait a while then compare. See which one you really fall in love with.
