Trendy fashion is a lot of fun. Without trendy fashion, we’d all be wearing the same things from one season to the next. It would certainly save us a lot of money, but it would make fashion, and even life in general, pretty boring. So trends are a good thing, but that’s not the whole story: sometimes fashion trends come along that are inexplicably awful. For some reason they catch on, and before you know it everyone is leaping on board with a new trend that just looks utterly hideous. #1 A woman’s fashion to avoid: Ugg boots particularly in public and with shorts

As far as we’re concerned, ugg boots have one purpose and one purpose alone: to keep your feet really warm by encasing them in wool. They’re not a fashion item and they should never be treated as such. For some inexplicable reason, however, ugg boots have gained popularity in some circles as something you might wear outside on a warm day. We appreciate that trendy fashion isn’t always logical, but this is going too far: pairing skimpy shorts with ultra warm foot wear just doesn’t make any sense. Are you cold or are you hot? Make up your mind, and then dress appropriately.

#2 A woman’s fashion to avoid: Crocs when you’re not on a boat

Ah, Crocs. Exactly how Crocs became popular is one of life’s great unsolved mysteries. For sure, they have their uses. A pair of Crocs would be ideal on a boot, say, or when engaged in river activities like fishing or rafting. We even heard about a plan to provide them to needy people in Africa as durable footwear, which also sounds like a good idea. But wearing them out to brunch on a Sunday morning? It’s awful.
